Editorial Standards
How we ensure quality, accuracy, and clarity in every article
At WeWillExplain, every article must earn the right to be published. These standards guide our research, writing, fact-checking, and editing — so you can trust what you read.
1. Accuracy First
We do not guess. We do not assume. Every claim, statistic, date, and name is verified against credible sources before publication.
- We prefer primary sources — official reports, peer-reviewed studies, direct quotes, original data
- We use secondary sources — reputable news outlets, established experts, verified databases — when primary sources are unavailable
- We cross-check facts using multiple independent sources whenever possible
- We cite sources within articles or list them at the end so readers can verify themselves
⚠️ If we cannot verify a claim with confidence, we either leave it out or clearly label it as unverified opinion.
2. Clarity Above All
Our entire purpose is to make complex topics easy to understand. Every article must pass the clarity test:
- No unnecessary jargon — technical terms are explained immediately
- Short sentences win — if a sentence can be split, we split it
- One idea per paragraph — readers should never get lost mid-thought
- Real-world analogies — abstract concepts are grounded in everyday examples
- Logical flow — every article builds understanding step by step, never jumping ahead
3. Fairness & Balance
We explain topics, not push agendas. On controversial or political subjects:
- We present multiple perspectives fairly
- We distinguish between facts, analysis, and opinion
- We avoid loaded language, strawman arguments, and selective framing
- Opinion pieces (if published) are clearly labeled as such
Our goal is to help readers understand an issue, not tell them what to think about it.
4. Originality
We do not copy, rewrite, or closely paraphrase other sources. Every article must offer:
- Unique explanation — a fresh angle, analogy, or structure
- Original synthesis — connecting ideas in ways readers haven’t seen before
- Our own voice — the friendly, clear, engaging tone that defines WeWillExplain
Plagiarism — in any form — results in immediate rejection or termination for authors.
5. Transparency
We believe readers deserve to know how content is made:
- We disclose when AI assists in our writing process
- We disclose conflicts of interest — if we cover a topic related to a sponsor or partner
- We disclose corrections — when we update an article, we note what changed and why
- We disclose funding — if an article is sponsored or paid for by a third party (we currently do not publish sponsored content without clear labeling)
6. Inclusivity & Respect
Our content is read by people of all ages, backgrounds, and education levels. We commit to:
- Using respectful, inclusive language
- Avoiding stereotypes, slurs, or demeaning descriptions of any group
- Representing diverse voices and perspectives in our coverage
- Ensuring content is accessible — readable fonts, clear structure, screen-reader friendly where possible
7. The Review Process
Every article passes through multiple stages before publication:
Sources gathered. Facts verified. Outline created.
Writer explains the topic in our voice and style.
Claims verified against sources. Errors caught.
Clarity improved. Tone polished. Structure refined.
Last check. Then publish.
8. Corrections & Updates
We are not perfect. When we get something wrong, we fix it.
- Readers can report errors via email — we investigate within 48 hours
- Confirmed errors are corrected promptly
- Significant corrections are noted at the bottom of the article with a timestamp
- Articles are periodically reviewed and updated to remain current
9. What We Won’t Publish
We reserve the right to reject or remove content that:
- Contains false, misleading, or unverifiable claims presented as fact
- Promotes hate speech, violence, discrimination, or illegal activity
- Is plagiarized or heavily derived from other sources without original contribution
- Serves primarily as self-promotion or undisclosed advertising
- Violates our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy
10. Reader Feedback
Our standards improve because our readers hold us accountable. If you spot an error, have a source we missed, or think we could explain something better:
