βœ… What We Look For

To qualify as a WeWillExplain author, you should have:

  • Strong writing skills β€” clear grammar, engaging style, logical flow
  • Subject knowledge β€” you don’t need a PhD, but you must understand what you’re explaining
  • Ability to simplify β€” can you explain quantum physics to a 12-year-old? That’s our gold standard
  • Original voice β€” we want unique perspectives, not Wikipedia rewrites
  • Commitment to accuracy β€” facts matter. Sources matter. We check everything
  • Reliability β€” if you commit to a deadline, meet it

πŸ“‹ Author Rules & Boundaries

Once approved, all authors must follow these guidelines:

πŸ“ Content Standards

  • Original work only β€” no plagiarism, no copying from other sites, no AI-generated content submitted as fully original (AI-assisted drafting is allowed if disclosed and heavily edited)
  • Fact-check everything β€” cite credible sources. If you make a claim, back it up
  • Explain, don’t preach β€” present balanced information. Avoid heavy bias unless the article is clearly labeled as opinion
  • No hate speech, harassment, or illegal content β€” ever
  • No self-promotion β€” don’t use articles to promote your business, products, or external services unless pre-approved
  • Respect copyright β€” only use images, data, and quotes you have rights to use

πŸ”’ Account & Access Rules

  • Don’t share your login β€” your author account is personal. Sharing credentials will result in immediate termination
  • Don’t create multiple accounts β€” one author, one account
  • Secure your password β€” use a strong, unique password. We are not responsible for hacked accounts due to weak security
  • We monitor activity β€” unusual login patterns or suspicious behavior may trigger account review

⏰ Publishing & Editorial

  • All articles are reviewed β€” nothing goes live without editor approval
  • Editors can modify your work β€” for clarity, accuracy, tone, or SEO. Major changes will be discussed with you
  • Meet your deadlines β€” if you commit to a publishing date, deliver. Repeated missed deadlines may result in access removal
  • Topic approval β€” pitch your topic before writing (unless pre-assigned). We avoid duplicate or off-brand content
  • We reserve the right to reject β€” any article that doesn’t meet our standards, even after submission

πŸ’° Compensation & Rights

  • Currently volunteer-based β€” we do not offer monetary payment at this time (update this if you do)
  • You retain moral rights β€” your byline stays on published work
  • We hold publishing rights β€” once published on WeWillExplain, the article belongs to our platform. You may not republish it elsewhere without permission
  • We may update or remove articles β€” for accuracy, relevance, or site maintenance
  • No competing platforms β€” don’t submit the same article to us and another site simultaneously

🚫 Grounds for Termination

Author access may be revoked immediately if you:

  • Submit plagiarized or stolen content
  • Publish false, misleading, or harmful information intentionally
  • Violate any content standard or account rule repeatedly
  • Use your author status for spam, scams, or self-promotion
  • Harass staff, editors, or other authors
  • Attempt to hack, exploit, or damage the website
  • Share your login credentials with unauthorized users

πŸ”„ Reapplying After Termination

If your access is revoked, you may reapply after 6 months with a written explanation of what changed. Reapproval is not guaranteed and depends on the severity of the original violation.
