DMCA and copyright

We respect the rights of writers, artists and other creators, and we expect the same from everyone who posts here. This page explains how to report content you believe infringes your copyright, and how to respond if your content was reported by mistake.

Reporting infringement

Email contact@wewillexplain.com with the subject “Copyright notice” and include:

  1. A description of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
  2. The exact web address (URL) of the page, comment or message that contains the material, so we can find it.
  3. Your name, mailing address, email address and phone number.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  5. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

We review every complete notice and act promptly, which may include removing or disabling access to the material and telling the person who posted it. Please note that a notice may be shared with the person who posted the material.

Counter-notice

If material you posted was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that you have the right to use it, email contact@wewillexplain.com with: the material and where it appeared, your name and contact details, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live (or, outside the United States, where our site is operated). If the complaining party does not start legal action within 10 to 14 business days, we may restore the material.

Repeat infringers

We may close the accounts of people who repeatedly post infringing material.

False claims

Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, can lead to liability for damages. Please be sure before you send a notice.
