What are the qualifications to become an author? +
Strong writing skills, subject knowledge, ability to simplify complex topics, and reliability. You don’t need a degree — passion and clarity matter most. All applicants complete a test article as part of evaluation.
How long does the author approval process take? +
Application review: 5-7 days. If shortlisted, test article submission: 7 days. Evaluation: 5-7 days. Total timeline is typically 2-3 weeks from initial email to decision.
Can I write under a pen name? +
Yes, you can publish under a pen name or pseudonym. However, we require your real identity for our internal records and verification during the application process.
Who owns the articles I write? +
Once published on WeWillExplain, we hold the publishing rights. You retain moral rights (your byline stays), but you cannot republish the same article elsewhere without permission. See our author guidelines for full details.
Can I use AI to write my articles? +
AI-assisted drafting is allowed if disclosed, but all submissions must be heavily edited, fact-checked, and improved by you. AI-generated content submitted without significant human revision will be rejected. Original voice and analysis are required.
What happens if I violate author rules? +
Violations like plagiarism, false information, account sharing, or self-promotion can result in immediate termination of author access. Reapplication is possible after 6 months with a written explanation. See author rules for details.
How many articles do I need to write? +
There is no strict quota. We appreciate consistent contributors but understand varying availability. Communicate your schedule during application and keep us updated if it changes.
Can I delete or edit my published articles? +
Authors can suggest edits to their published work, but final approval rests with our editorial team. We generally do not delete published articles unless they contain serious errors or legal issues. Contact your editor for revision requests.
